Scramble League 2025

Format: This is a 9-hole league, lasting 6 weeks. Teams are made up of 2 players with a scramble handicap. Your team will be paired against another competing team each week, alternating between the front 9 and back 9. Each match, you will be able to earn a maximum of 20 points for your team. 2 points for winning a hole, 1 point each for a tie, and 0 points if you lose a hole. The low net score for that 9 will earn an additional 2 points.

If you or your teammate is not able to play, please find a sub and play that night. A sub can be anyone, but at least one member of the original team must play for the score to count. Otherwise, make up your 9 holes and turn in a scorecard before the next league night or you will forfeit your points that week. Teams not matched up against another team will play against par.

League will be split into two divisions, which will change each session. This keeps the competition more fair as teams are playing similar teams over the 6 weeks. The top 2 in each division will get paid out in cash and we will have 3, $10 flag prizes each night.

Rules:  We are out here to have fun and play in a reasonable amount of time. If a tee shot is obviously hit out of bounds, take a one stroke penalty and re-tee. If you think it is in play and drive up to look for it but cannot find it, take one penalty stroke and drop laterally from the location the ball entered the out of bounds area or where you believe it was lost, instead of returning to the spot the previous stroke was taken.

You are allowed to improve your lie by playing the ball up, but you cannot move your ball to a different area of the course or different cut of grass.

Gimmies must not be given for putts longer than a clublength, and can only be given by your competitor in order to keep league handicaps accurate and fair.

Max score on a hole is net double par.

Beyond that, we will be playing by the current USGA Rules of Golf.

Handicaps: For the first week, your handicap will be determined by taking 35% of your A player's estimated handicap, plus 15% of your B player as recommended by the USGA for a 2-person scramble. Max handicap given will be 30. From then on, handicap will be adjusted each week based on your league scores. For subs, handicaps will be calculated just like the first week.

Schedule: League begins Thursday, April 24th at 6:00pm. We will then play every Thursday for 6 total weeks. Rainout days will push the schedule back a week for each night we have to cancel.

Payouts and Flag Prizes: All cash will be handed out at the end of the 6th night with food provided after play. 1st, 2nd in each division will receive cash, along with all flag prize winners throughout the season.
